Kermit the Frog

Kermit the frog was created in 1955 by Jim Hensen who controlled the puppet until his death in 1990. Kermit is the most popular of all the Muppets performing in countless films. He was first made of Jim Hensen's mothers thrown out coat and two ping pong balls. Originally he was a lizard creature, but he was shown as a frog in 1969's "Hey Cinderella", and has been a frog ever since.
